Six months (24 weeks)

Ben is just about six months old. Where has the time gone?!

Our little man is so much fun now.

He makes all kinds of noises, from raspberries and big roars to some crazy screeching and sweet little mews.

No laughs though, he is a very serious baby. You have to work to get smiles out of him.

He is as curious as a cat, methodically investigating anything new or searching for the source of a distant sound.

He loves Goldie and his eyes are trained on her most of the time.
But who could resist Goldie?! Certainly not Liam...

He is not making much progress with tummy-time but he is very close to sitting on his own.
I let him sit on the bed or on the floor between my feet.
He sits on our laps and pulls himself up and back but the moment he reaches to the side his whole body follows the direction of his head and he topples over.
So we can’t let him really sit on his own just yet.

In direct contrast to his genetic makeup, Ben is NOT a party boy.

Every time I bring him to a party he cries like a banshee.

It’s just a little too much noise and commotion for him but we keep bringing him around, hoping he’ll get used to all of the oooohs and aaahhs.

These are our good friends from Minnesota and around the corner.

Take a look at my (no) party boy LOL

Mothers day was pretty wonderful. Liam gave me a beautiful hanging flower basket on Ben's behalf and of course, lots of love. Then Ben and I spent the day with my mom in Brigantine. The weather was perfect and Ben was an absolute angel.

Ben seems uncomfortable in his Bumbo seat now that he is so big.

We all love it so much that it’s hard to let go!!! We can only keep him in it for a few minutes at a time.

He still loves to chill on the counter and be in the mix when we're in the kitchen. We call him our little Sous Chef.

Ben has really turned the corner with sleeping.

Once I found the solution to his itchy skin issues, he started sleeping through the night and going to bed awake … without a swaddle.

He loves his mobile, toys and especially his blankets.

He rubs them on his face, pets them andsleeps with them tossed over his head.

This is Ben's first taste of mommy's homemade baby food.

He wasn’t too sure about those peas…

... but he loved them.

He’s had zucchini and sweet potatoes too.

Ben is a big boy in his new high-chair.
He is a very good eater.
Food is so much easier than the bottle.

TOUCHDOWN!!!

Somebody doesn’t need a pillow under his feet anymore.

One morning, those little toes just reached the floor.

Ben wants to be upright all of the time so his activity center is really the place to be.

He bounces and plays with all of the good stuff in there... and of course, he watches Baby Einstein.

He was over 25 inches and 15 lbs May 1st

This is proof enough that he has grown since then.

He is starting to feel really heavy to me now.

The next Dr. visit is July 2nd.

I'm stretching every last second out of this bath-cozy.

Ben loves bath time.

We are bathing every night before bed.

He just soaks and plays with the water and toys.

His new favorite is this floating book.
