Week Eight

Ben is smiling all of the time now. The best way to coax one out it to dab his mouth with his bib but *gasp and giggle*, kisses, and high pitched exclamations work too. It's still really hard to get on film. One of these days.....

Bubbie & Zayde stopped by with pizza (with anchovies) on Sunday.

 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Our little Valentine...

Liam & Ben both had flowers delivered to the house … though I have a sneaking suspicion that Ben had a little help from Pop-pop. Thanks guys, I cried.  I guess those hormones are still hangin in there lol

Future heart-breaker.
Current stud-muffin.

Ben received lots of cards and a big balloon from Grammy.

OK so I tortured my muse just a little for these pics but he was a good sport.
Liam broke out the Baby Bjorn and the whole family took a little walk.

Aunt Cait came home from college this weekend so Ben had to get as much snuggle time as possible!!

Week Seven

There isn’t too much to report this week. Ben is steady eating and growing. I was literally losing sleep worrying about switching formulas but the new stuff is working out great. He is digesting it better than the special newborn stuff – go figure! His little eyelashes are coming in but still no sign of eyebrows lol.

Ben is getting a little more control of his limbs so when you throw him over your shoulder, he’ll position his arms to cling on – it’s the most amazing feeling.

We took a trip to Uncle Kurt’s for Super bowl Sunday.

Pop-pop held Ben all night.

We propped up the mattress and Liam constructed some bumpers to simulate the snuggly feeling of the bassinet but we’re still struggling with the crib transition.

Ben sleeps for no more than 45 minutes (per nap) during the day. We still put him in the bassinet at night so he will really sleep.

I suspect that snapping a million pictures may not be the best idea...  but I just can't help it.
Most days Ben just cries when he wakes up but on occasion, he'll just chill out and look around at all the fun stuff in his crib.

We had Grammy & Gramps over for dinner. Ben’s regularly scheduled grump was more than enough reason for Grammy to bring him to the table.

Ben is getting so big, he's wearing his big boy outfits!!

Look mom, no hands -Weeeeeee!

I have wheels now!! One of my first trips is to Jommy & Pop-pop’s.

We think Mr. Benjamin is going to be very refined… he always has his pinkies up.

Six weeks

Our trip to the Dr. was a success! Ben has grown beautifully.  He is now in the 50th percentile at 22 inches, 9lbs 13oz. What a stud!!

This winter has been unseasonably warm and February 1st was no exception. With daddy off, we took advantage of the spring-like day. The whole family took a walk to Memorial Grove.

Thursday night, Bubbie & “Him” joined us for dinner.

I’m training Goldie up to babysit for me.

We took a trip to Alicia’s and met little Will.

Friday night, the Tittermary family brought us pizza!!!

Gavin gives kisses!

Happy (belated) 3rd Birthday!

See this little brown teddybear outfit ... RETIRED! Ben has grown out of all of his fleecey pjs!! There is still no shortage of cute things to wear - thanks to his hoards of adoring fans =)

Ben is staying up a little longer during the day and sleeping more at night. We've enjoyed five hours of sleep, three nights in a row.  Everyone is very happy with the shift.  He (almost) never spits up but he is full of gas - He hates to poop.  Gas interrupts every sleep.

He loves music and listens intently when I sing to him. His favorites are Adele and Animal Collective.  When he gets fussy during the day, I’ve been putting him in the swing next to the computer and playing iTunes… in fact, that’s exactly what is happening right now haha.

He is still having his evening crying spells anytime (or the whole time) between 6:00 & 10:00pm. Grammy had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Grumpy-pants Saturday night. Liam and I had our first date night at Sagami. No picture... but trust me, we looked fabulous lol. Grammy seemed no worse for wear a few hours later but we suspect she clocked a couple of miles walking the little man around the house to calm him.

One smile, and it's all worth it.
